At University church of Christ, we understand that we as Christians are to do more than assemble on the first day of the week (I Corinthians 16:2; Acts 20:7). Through our study of God’s Word, we understand that it is up to us to be busy with the Lord’s work (I Corinthians 15:58) and to serve others (Philippians 2:4).
With this in mind, our members meet on the second Monday of every month for the purpose of seeing these works done. We meet at 6:00pm for a fellowship meal and devotional, led by one of our men. At 6:30pm, we split up to do various assignments. Some write cards, others prepare meals for our shut-ins and sick; some go out and make visits taking cookies to our elderly and visitors. It’s a rewarding and encouraging work to which we give the glory and honor to God (Colossians 3:17)!
